The automotive industry has really done a disservice to its customers by constantly reducing what is included in a regular service and, subsequently, its quality. This has been done to reduce service prices to attract customers.
However, all of these shortcuts and corner cutting means that issues are being missed and overlooked at every service until they become major breakdown issues and financial headaches!
Another industry scam is to woo customers in with prices so low that you can't say no.
Once your in the door, the mechanic will provide you with a long report of your car's issues - many of which do not exist (insiders know it as a "shopping list"). An advisor will then pressure sell you thousands of dollars worth of repairs by advising that the jobs are urgent. They will advise you that your car is on the brink of immediate breakdown, or your safety, and that of others, is at risk...
At AAP, we do not accept these practices. We don't take shortcuts and don't cut corners.

OUR YEARLY SERVICE INCLUDES:

Drain and replace oil with premium Mobil 1 full synthetic motor oil.

Replace and install oil filter (plus sump plug where required)

Check brake system for leaks and damage.

Inspect motor and motor compartment for abnormal noise, leaks, and damage.

Measure thickness of brake pads, linings, and brake discs. Assess for damage.

Assess and adjust headlight settings as necessary.

Inspect and verify functionality of rear, tail, brake, reversing, number plate, and hazard lights.

Inspect the exhaust system for leaks, integrity, and damage.

Evaluate condition and wear pattern of all wheels, including the spare tyre if applicable.

Measure tyre tread depth. Assess for sidewall wear/damage and consider tyre's age.

Examine drive/ribbed belt for wear, tears, or damage.

Assess transmission for leaks or damage. Assess transmission oil and filter.

Consider spark plug's age and need for replacement.

Inspect air filter. Replace if required.

Inspect cabin/dust/pollen filter. Replace if required.

Inspect windscreen wash, wipe system, and headlight wash system.

Examine windscreen wiper blades for function, wear, and damage.

Inspect interior and glove compartment lighting, warning lamps, and horn.

Evaluate ball joints for any issues and boots for leaks and damage.

Assess track rod ends for play, security, and condition of boots.

Assess the integrity of engine, gearbox, final drive, steering, and joint protective boots/bellows.

Analyse current fault codes and memories using vehicle diagnostic OBD reader.

Audit for outstanding service campaigns and advise accordingly.

Thorough inspection of underbody protection for any damage.

Check battery electrolyte level and top up with distilled water as needed.

Perform battery voltage and health check.

Verify antifreeze specifications to ensure protection down to -25 degrees Celsius.

Verify expiry date of tyre repair kit, if applicable.

Reset the service/maintenance display, if applicable.

Assess car keys and remote batteries. Affix next service reminder sticker.

Test drive vehicle and assess for any on-road concerns/issues.
