PASSENGER VEHICLES
FRONT WINDOWS
The darkest legal tint for the front side windows is 35% VLT - meaning the tint allows 35% of light through.
You can just see through the windows into the car so it provides a great level of privacy and 99% UV protection.
REAR WINDOWS
The darkest legal tint for the rear side windows and rear windscreen is 20% VLT.
In most cases you can just see silhouettes through the films so it provides an excellent level of privacy and 99% UV protection.
Lighter options with higher VLTs are available for both front and rear tinting as well.
COMMERCIAL VANS
Windows behind the driver can have any darkness tint (including 0% VLT). This allows for complete privacy and may prevent theft of work items.
Front side windows (driver and passenger) must have a VLT of at least 35%.
A tinted strip can be applied to the top of the windscreen, but it should not extend below the uppermost 10% of the windscreen or the area that the windscreen wipers don't sweep.
